In accordance with the Data Protection Authority's guidelines and the guidance of CNIL (French data protection authority), the Swedish DPA and other European authorities, Plausible Analytics does not require user consent as it does not perform profiling and the data collected is exclusively anonymous and aggregated.

5. Use of localStorage

The Website uses the browser's localStorage mechanism to store certain user preferences, such as the display mode setting (light/dark). localStorage is a local storage mechanism provided by the HTML5 standard with the following characteristics:

It is not automatically transmitted to the server with each HTTP request (unlike cookies)
It remains confined to the user's browser and is not accessible by the server
It cannot be read by websites other than the one that created it
It can be cleared by the user at any time through the browser's settings
It does not have an automatic expiry date (unlike cookies)
It is not shared between different browsers on the same device

Therefore, localStorage does not fall within the definition of cookies under current legislation and does not require user consent for its use, as it is comparable to a storage mechanism strictly necessary for the functioning of the requested service.

6. Need for a Cookie Banner
